Perhaps it is because there are words left in this place that still manage to stick in our throats.
Perhaps it is because we close our mouths and open our eyes.
Perhaps it is because our memories of the thing are more important than the thing itself.
Perhaps the meaning we seek in everything is really the meaning that already exists in us.
Perhaps the roads we're running down are pale imitations of the roads we failed to find in our hometowns.
Perhaps there was something in the well water after all.
